Doing the same workout routine over and over again is no fun.  There are so many unique ways to get a good, well-rounded exercise while trying to lose weight.  A fun way to narrow down your options while selecting a new way to burn calories is to consider pinpointing your exercise personality.  Everyone has one, and the sooner you figure yours out, the easier it will be to enjoy being active.

The Soloist: If you enjoy the solitude of working out alone to lose weight, you may enjoy a number of different workout options.  Jogging in the park, swimming, or getting a good workout on gym equipment are some activities that you may already partake in to work up a sweat.  A new option to consider may be kickboxing.  Find a local kickboxing gym and learn a few routines you can complete by yourself.

The Dancer: For those of you who love to dance along with music videos in front of the television or in front of the mirror, you will probably love Zumba aerobics.  These workouts feature music that makes you want to dance.

The Socialite: Do you find yourself in the middle of interesting office conversations on a regular basis?  Do you prefer to work on projects in groups rather than solo?  You may want to try signing up for group fitness classes.  Many local gyms host fitness classes of all types.  If you want to work on your core, there is probably a class for that.  If you want a good aerobic workout, there are usually several options at most gyms.  This is a good way to burn calories and lose weight while making new friends.

The Productive Exerciser: Many of us are so busy that we barely have time to work out at all.  Some of us have mastered the art of multi-tasking in every area of our life, but it can be a little difficult to do with exercising.  Consider building physical activity into family or office bonding time.  Suggest office contests that challenge people to walk on their lunch breaks.  Plan family fitness days that incorporate things like laser tag, a family walk in the park, or fitness relays.  These activities not only make it easy to break a sweat but also help you build bonds with the people around you.
