Your weekly meetings with your own trusted health coach focus on building a relationship that nurtures support and accountability to guide you through each milestone. Your personal coach wants to learn about you. Together, the possibilities for creating lifestyle changes are within reach.
Medical Advice and Support
Your provider can offer a medical interpretation of why your body responds the way it does to certain foods and drinks, based on your medical history and current health status, blood work, waist circumference and body fat. They can design a specific treatment plan accordingly and monitor your progress and provide tools, such as appetite suppressants, to help you reach your goals safely and efficiently.
Real Food Focused
Learn the value of real food and appreciate what it can do for your body. The ability to understand what you are eating and the influence it has on your metabolism and energy status will help you lose weight and keep it off.
Lifestyle Change for Sustainability
The more your new habits integrate into your lifestyle, the better prepared you are for sustainable weight maintenance. Even after you finish the program, we will help you maintain the lifestyle mindset. Not only will you feel better in your body but you will also improve your overall health.

The short answer is yes! We have worked with men and women seeking to lose anywhere between 10-100 pounds. Some of our patients come to us to improve or avoid health conditions, like diabetes or heart disease. Some have struggled with weight their entire lives; others come to us after major life changes, such as career transitions, childbirth or menopause. Everyone wants to lose weight safely, with confidence, and for their own reasons.
Yes. Although meal replacements can help you lose weight, we believe that in order to sustain your weight loss, its imperative you feel comfortable navigating real-world eating situations. Learning how to put a meal together or making healthful choices at a restaurant can be challenging for some individuals. We provide you with sample menus, shopping lists, and other tools, as well as share helpful tips so you handle and feel comfortable in all situations. That said, we do sell high-quality bars, low-carb snacks, and protein powders for situations where cooking isn’t possible (like when you’re traveling or extremely crunched for time).
Obesity is influenced by many factors – lifestyle, stress, sleep and more. Effective weight loss therefore requires a multidimensional approach. Our method for weight loss acknowledges your past experiences and current lifestyle, your motivators and challenges, along with your unique medical conditions, and integrates this information into a customized plan designed specifically for you. Through weekly education and coaching sessions, we provide the ongoing personal support that you need to stay accountable and to create behavioral lifestyle changes that last. Exercise is important for relieving stress and regular exercise increases your metabolism over time. We recommend moderate exercise once you have settled into the program. If you are completely sedentary when starting the program, exercise can be introduced gradually. Over time, we will increase the amount of exercise. Establishing a regular exercise routine is critical for successful long-term maintenance.
You will meet with a trained health educator each week. Your health educator may have an expertise in wellness, nutrition, psychology, personal training, and/or mindfulness, and many of them have struggled with weight themselves. Your health educator will be there to help you stay accountable, guide and support you weekly.
GreenLite Medicine clients will meet with a team of experts including a health educator and a licensed medical expert. Your medical provider may be a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant who has a deep understanding of obesity medicine. During the first month, you will meet with both members of your team to ensure a road map to success. Your health educator will continue to guide and support you weekly. Your medical provider will follow your progress intermittently, but will always be available as needed.
We encourage you to choose one primary health educator as your main support coach. Our studies show that the creation of routines, including weekly meetings with a consistent educator, can help build relationships and positively contribute to successful weight loss.
As part of the GreenLite Medicine and the Simply GreenLite programs, we offer weekly injections of MIC (which includes a small amount of vitamin B12). This injection is not required.
MIC (methionine, inositol, and choline) are lipotropic agents that belong to a class of substances that play important roles in the body’s use of fat. Through their involvement in lipid (fat) metabolism, lipotropics help maintain liver function and promote fat excretion.
Methionine is a lipotropic amino acid, which reduces fat and aids in lowering cholesterol. It also plays a vital upstream role in the synthesis of other amino acids needed by the body.
Inositol and Choline are coenzymes necessary for the proper metabolism of fats. A deficiency in inositol has been shown to produce an accumulation of triglycerides in the liver. Inositol metabolizes fats and cholesterol and aids in their transport in blood vessels. It is, therefore, an aid in the redistribution of body fat and can help lower cholesterol levels. Choline aids in emulsifying cholesterol. Choline also works well with methionine to detoxify amines, which are the by-products of protein metabolism. Without choline, fats can become trapped in the liver, where they can block normal metabolic functions.
Vitamin B12 is also called cobalamin and is 1 of the 8 water-soluble B vitamins. Cobalamin is an excellent antistress vitamin, since it is believed to enhance the healthy functioning of the immune system and improve the body’s ability to fight stressful conditions.
We also offer supplemental vitamin B6 injections (which may help with water retention and cravings) and full B12 injections at a separate cost. These supplements complement our weight loss program and are only offered to our weight loss clients.
We include complementary pharmaceutical grade multivitamins monthly to our clients. On your first visit, you’ll also receive a complementary 30-day supply of chromium supplements.
Chromium picolinate is the most absorbable form of chromium, a rare mineral often deficient in the American diet. Research suggests that chromium deficiency may play a role in the onset of diabetes. Chromium works well with inositol to decrease bad cholesterol (LDL) and increase good cholesterol (HDL).
It is very important to take a multivitamin, especially during the first phase of the program. While you are on a calorie-restricted diet, we want to ensure that you are receiving your essential vitamins and minerals. Research suggests that micro-nutrient deficiency may play a role in obesity and cancer. Our therapeutic formula provides a pharmaceutical-grade product at high potency.
These supplements are also available for purchase at any of our locations and also through ShopGreenLite, our online store.
Yes. Maintenance is an important part of keeping the weight off. There are several studies that demonstrate the need for continued accountability for sustainable weight loss success. We offer several plans to keep you on track after you’ve hit your goal weight.
We have treated teens between the ages of 14-18, however, a certain level of self-motivation and maturity is required for a successful outcome. In addition, we want to ensure that both the teen and the parent are on board with the same goal. Our medical provider will arrange a time to speak to the parent and teen before accepting a teen into the program.
No. HCG protocols work only in conjunction with a Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD), which consists of 500 calories. Our facility decided against the use of HCG since we felt a VLCD was not consistent with our ultimate mission of advocating long-term healthy eating habits. Although a 500-calorie diet can lead to quick weight loss, it does not allow an individual to practice and establish eating habits for the sustainable future.
Payment is due at time of service. Only GreenLite Medicine clients may qualify for insurance reimbursement. We bill insurance for patients with PPO coverage for out-of-network reimbursement, and those utilizing a Health Savings Account (HSA), Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRA), and Flex Spending Accounts (FSA). While we cannot guarantee individual reimbursement amounts, we work diligently with our billing partner to ensure maximum reimbursement. All reimbursements are sent directly to the patient. If you have one of these plans, we encourage you to contact our liaison, Lakeysha Hayes, at 510-798-0325 or email email@example.com with your insurance information at hand. She can provide information on your plan and, if eligible, submit the claims on your behalf for reimbursement.
